Zone 5 Technologies

AGM-188 Rusty Dagger

A low-cost, precision-guided air-launched stand-off munition developed by Zone 5 Technologies for the U.S. Air Force Extended Range Attack Munition (ERAM) program. Sitting between a cruise missile and a guided bomb, it weighs about 227 kg (500 lb), is 2.64 m long, carries a roughly 45 kg conventional warhead and is powered by a single PBS Aerospace TJ80 turbojet for an operational range greater than 926 km (500 nmi) at high-subsonic speed. Contracts were issued in October 2024, first flight followed within about four months, and service entry is expected in late 2026 at a unit cost of roughly $246,000. It is compatible with a wide range of launch platforms including the F-35, F-15E/EX, F-16, F/A-18E/F, AH-64 and AH-1Z, strategic bombers, and ground- or ship-launch via systems such as Rapid Dragon. Zone 5 Technologies was acquired by Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace in 2026.
