Vampire

The Vampire is a heavy six-rotor (hexacopter) night-strike drone developed by the Ukrainian manufacturer Skyfall, entering frontline use around 2023. It is the platform most commonly referred to as "Baba Yaga" by Ukrainian soldiers, a nickname borrowed from the night-flying witch of Slavic folklore, reflecting the drone's typical role flying night bombing runs that are difficult for ground troops to detect and counter. Publicly reported figures place its payload capacity around 15 kg or more and its operational range up to roughly 20 km, though as an actively evolving wartime platform built and modified by multiple workshops, exact specifications vary between reported batches and have not been independently standardized. Skyfall built the Vampire for strike missions against armored vehicles, fortified positions, ammunition depots and personnel, typically dropping mortar-caliber bombs, thermobaric munitions or other improvised ordnance from height. The type has proven durable enough to withstand small-arms fire and electronic jamming in contested frontline environments such as Vovchansk, and its design has been widely copied by other Ukrainian and, following battlefield captures, Russian drone teams, with the generic "Baba Yaga" label now applied loosely to a broader family of heavy bomber hexacopters and octocopters beyond the original Skyfall-built Vampire. Skyfall has not published a formal technical datasheet, and no unit cost or total production figures are publicly available.
