Overview

The FP-5 Flamingo is a long-range cruise missile developed by the Ukrainian company Fire Point, built around a 14-meter carbon-fiber airframe powered by an AI-25TL turbofan engine. It carries a 1,150 kg warhead, roughly three times the payload of Russia's own Kh-101 cruise missile, and is stated to have a maximum range exceeding 3,000 km, using satellite navigation and a low-altitude flight profile intended to limit radar detection. Fire Point co-owner and chief designer Denys Shtilerman has publicly confirmed the missile's involvement in a growing number of deep-strike missions against Russian defense-industrial targets, including a July 24, 2026 strike that hit the Avitek plant in Kirov (a subsidiary of Russia's Almaz-Antey conglomerate and the country's only serial manufacturer of ejection seats for fighter and attack aircraft) roughly 1,200 km inside Russian territory, well within the missile's stated maximum range. Fire Point has not publicly disclosed the missile's unit cost or full production rate.
