Type 054B

China's next-generation general-purpose frigate, an all-new design succeeding the numerous Type 054A rather than an incremental refit. The lead ship Luohe (FFG-545) was commissioned 22 January 2025 at Hudong-Zhonghua's Shanghai yard, with sister ship Qinzhou (FFG-555) commissioned from Huangpu Shipyard in Guangzhou the same April; two further hulls were under construction as of this record. It carries a new 100 mm gun, a dual-face rotating AESA radar and accommodates the larger Z-20 helicopter (the 054A could only embark the lighter Z-9).
