A Ukrainian state-owned aerospace and defense manufacturer in Dnipro, founded in 1944 as a Soviet-era plant and long known by its Russian-language name Yuzhmash before adopting the Ukrainian name Pivdenmash. Historically one of the Soviet Union's principal ballistic-missile and space-launch-vehicle production sites, it works alongside its sister design bureau KB Pivdenne (Yuzhnoye) and has become Ukraine's domestic developer and builder of ballistic missiles during the war with Russia, including the Sapsan (1KR1) short-range ballistic missile marketed for export as Hrim-2.
