HENSOLDT AG

TRML-4D

A mobile C-band AESA air-surveillance and target-acquisition radar from HENSOLDT built for ground-based air defense, able to track around 1,500 targets simultaneously out to 250 km. It cues short and medium-range surface-to-air missile batteries such as IRIS-T SLM and has been supplied to Ukraine and Germany's air-defense forces.

Overview

TRML-4D (Tracking and Surveillance Radar) is HENSOLDT's mobile, gallium-nitride active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar for ground-based air defense, combining continuous mechanical 360-degree rotation with electronic beam steering for rapid revisit rates against small, fast, low-flying and stealthy targets, including cruise missiles and drones. It offers an instrumented range of up to 250 km and instrumented altitude of up to 30 km, tracks fighter aircraft beyond 120 km and supersonic missiles beyond 60 km, and can hold roughly 1,500 targets in parallel. The system is transportable on cross-country trucks fitted for 20-foot ISO containers and can be set up or struck in 10-15 minutes, operating under remote control away from the launcher. TRML-4D cues short and medium-range SAM systems including IRIS-T SLM, and HENSOLDT and Diehl Defence have received large follow-on orders, including deliveries and further sales to Ukraine and Egypt.
