Overview
The Ziesel is a compact, fully electric tracked unmanned ground vehicle marketed by Diehl Defence, built on a platform base originally developed by Austria's Mattro. It is armed with the Rafael Spike LR anti-tank guided missile and has undergone prototype and trials use in both Germany and Ukraine. A distinctive feature is Diehl's PLATON autonomy kit, which lets the Ziesel follow a soldier on foot without relying on GPS or active sensors, using supervised autonomy rather than constant teleoperation. In trials the platform completed the first-ever Spike LR missile firings from an unmanned platform, with 17 missiles fired over five days of testing.

Performance
Speed, range, altitude and engagement capability.
| Max speed Maximum level speed. For aircraft this is at optimal altitude; for ground vehicles, top road speed. Higher means faster response and better kinematic performance. | 20 km/h |
|---|
Firepower
Armament, payload and guidance.
| Main armament Primary weapon: main gun, cannon or missile type. | Rafael Spike LR anti-tank guided missile |
|---|
Physical
Dimensions, weight and crew.
| Length Overall length including gun/probe where applicable. | 1.6 m |
|---|---|
| Width Overall width, matters for rail/road transport of vehicles. | 1.3 m |
| Crew Personnel required to operate. Fewer reduces exposure; autoloaders trade a loader for mechanical complexity. | 0 |
Propulsion
Engine, power and fuel.
| Propulsion type Turbofan, turboshaft, diesel, gas turbine, solid-fuel rocket, ramjet… | Fully electric, 11kWh lithium-ion battery |

Autonomy & control
How the platform moves, how much it does without an operator, and how far the control link reaches.
| Locomotion How the platform moves: tracked, wheeled or legged. Tracks suit soft ground and heavy payloads, wheels favor road speed and range, legs handle stairs and rubble. Not a ranking, a trade-off. | Tracked |
|---|---|
| Autonomy level How much the platform does without an operator, as the manufacturer describes it. Vendors do not use a common standard, so this is a coarse editorial bucket, not a certified rating. | Supervised autonomy |
