Overview
Jaguar is a six-wheeled, roughly 1,500 kg unmanned ground vehicle developed jointly by IAI's ELTA Systems division and the Israel Defense Forces, integrated into the IDF's Gaza Division border patrol from May 2021. It drives itself semi-autonomously point to point with automated obstacle avoidance, and mounts a stabilized General Robotics Pitbull remote weapon station firing either a 7.62mm FN MAG machine gun (400-round capacity, the configuration used for the ammunition figure here) or an alternative 5.56mm IWI Negev with a 500-round capacity, able to engage on the move or stationary. The platform carries dozens of onboard sensors for fog- and dust-capable operation, an integrated public-address system for warnings and challenges, automatic self-recharging at a dedicated charging station, and a self-destruct feature intended to deny the vehicle to hostile forces if captured.
Full specifications
Firepower
Armament, payload and guidance.
| Main armament Primary weapon: main gun, cannon or missile type. | 7.62mm FN MAG or 5.56mm IWI Negev machine gun on a stabilized General Robotics Pitbull remote weapon system |
|---|---|
| Ammunition Rounds carried (main gun) or standard magazine capacity. | 400 |
Physical
Dimensions, weight and crew.
| Combat weight Fully loaded weight. Lighter eases transport and bridging limits; heavier often means more armor. | 1,500 kg |
|---|---|
| Crew Personnel required to operate. Fewer reduces exposure; autoloaders trade a loader for mechanical complexity. | 0 |
Autonomy & control
How the platform moves, how much it does without an operator, and how far the control link reaches.
| Locomotion How the platform moves: tracked, wheeled or legged. Tracks suit soft ground and heavy payloads, wheels favor road speed and range, legs handle stairs and rubble. Not a ranking, a trade-off. | Wheeled |
|---|---|
| Autonomy level How much the platform does without an operator, as the manufacturer describes it. Vendors do not use a common standard, so this is a coarse editorial bucket, not a certified rating. | Semi-autonomous |
