Japanese steelmaker and industrial manufacturer founded in 1907 in Muroran, Hokkaido, historically known for producing the battleship Yamato's main gun barrels. In modern defense work it manufactures the gun and turret for the Type 99 155mm self-propelled howitzer, with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries supplying the hull.
