One of South Korea's 'Big Three' shipbuilders, founded in 1978 as Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME). Hanwha Group acquired a controlling stake in December 2022, and shareholders approved the rename to Hanwha Ocean in May 2023. Builds the Chang Bogo-class submarines and Daegu-class (FFX Batch II) frigates.
